Alpine Giant Slalom is one of three race disciplines included in the Winter Games NZ race programme. Athletes have two runs on two courses (the run is reset after everyone completes run one) with the athletes combined time used to determine the winner. In Giant Slalom events the gates are further apart than slalom, but closer than Super G, to test each skiers ability to turn through the gates whilst skiing at medium speed. Come up to Cardrona and watch these amazing para athletes race down the course.
