For approximate driving times and distances between different venues, please refer to the table below. You should carry snow chains on all routes (compulsory for mountain passes). The distance between Wanaka and Queenstown is calculated for the Crown Range Road. If there is a lot of snow, or you are a nervous driver, you may prefer to take the longer route via Cromwell. This takes approx 1.5 hrs.
