About the Winter Games NZ festival
Festival events are an essential part of Audi quattro Winter Games NZ. The 2017 event will once again feature an awesome line up of live music, DJs and entertainment.
The 2017 festival programme will be announced closer to the Games.
Here’s a reminder of what went down at WGNZ 2015.
From the opening ceremony at Coronet Peak, which included a dramatic floodlit dual alpine slalom race won by US stars Mikaela Shiffrin and Ted Ligety, to the glittering closing ceremony at Cardrona Alpine Resort, there was a full festival programme…
…and it was all completely free to watch!
Kiwi performer, Ladi6 (pictured) sung the national anthem during our opening ceremony before heading downtown for a concert at the Queenstown Games Village. We hosted live music, medal ceremonies and daily entertainment in Queenstown and Wanaka.
The 2015 JUCY Meltdown Concert held on the Wanaka lakefront after the on-mountain closing ceremony featured local rising stars, Arma Del Amor followed by a blistering headline set from Kora, one of New Zealand’s most sonically powerful live bands.
